According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, there were 250 582 visitors attending museum exhibitions (within and outside of museums) in 2012. Of a total of 26 museums, 17 were public general museums, 8 were public specialised museums, and one private museum.
In 2012, the museums organised 182 own exhibitions, of which 122 were prepared by public general museums, 57 by public specialised museums and 3 by the private museum.
In 2012, there were 430 642 inventoried exhibits in the museums, of which 30 434 were displayed.
The museum collections had 403 616 inventoried exhibits, with 23 315 on display.
The data presented in this release were obtained from completed questionnaires for 2012 submitted by 26 museums and 30 museum collections.
