Industrial producer price indices on the domestic market, January 2011

At the beginning of this year, the State Statistical Office, for the purpose of collecting and processing data on Industrial producer price indices on the domestic market used the new National Nomenclature of Industrial Products 2008, while for calculation and publication of industrial producer price indices the new National Classification of Activities Rev.2 was used. To ensure time series of comparable data, the monthly industrial producer price indices on the domestic market from 2005 to 2010 were recalculated according to the new National Classification of Activities Rev.2.
According to the State Statistical Office data, the Industrial producer prices on the domestic market in January 2011, in comparison with January 2010, increased by 12.7%.
This increase, first of all, is a result of the increased prices in Energy by 21.2%, Intermediate goods industries, except energy by 10.9%, Capital goods industries by 1.6%, Durable consumer goods industries by 2.2% and Non-durable consumer goods industries by 5.8%.
The Industrial producer prices on the domestic market in January 2011, in comparison with January 2010, in the section Mining and quarrying increased by 15.3%, in the section Manufacturing industry the prices increased by 13.2%, and in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply the prices increased by 10.1%.
