Index of the number of employees in industry, January 2011

At the beginning of this year, the State Statistical Offce, for the purpose of collecting and processing data on the number of
employees in industry used the new National Nomenclature of Industrial Products 2008, while for calculation and publication
of indices of employees in industry the new National Classifcation of Activities Rev.2 was used. To ensure time series of
comparable data, the monthly indices of employees in industry from 2005 to 2010 were recalculated according to the new National
Classifcation of Activities Rev.2.
According to the State Statistical Offce data, the index of the number of employees in industry in January 2011, in comparison
with the same month of the previous year, was 99.8.
The number of employees in industry in the section Mining and quarrying in January 2011, in comparison with January
2010, increased by 3.6%, in Manufacturing industry it decreased by 0.8% and in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air
conditioning supply it increased by 2.8%.
