In the regular primary and lower secondary schools, there were 197 859 students at the end of the school year 2011/2012, which is a decrease of 2.0% compared to the previous school year.
The number of students in the regular upper secondary schools at the end of the school year 2011/2012 was 91 167, which is 1.8% less compared to the previous school year.
