The total number of students in the primary and lower secondary education at the beginning of the school year 2009/2010 decreased by 2.7%

According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, the number of students in the regular primary and lower secondary schools at the beginning of the school year 2009/2010 was 210 381, which is a decrease of 2.7% compared to the previous school year.

The number of students in the regular upper secondary schools at the beginning of the school year 2009/2010 was 95 343, which is an increase of 1.6% compared to the previous school year.
