Transport of passengers by bus, first quarter of 2017

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the first quarter of 2017, compared to the same period of 2016, the total
number of passengers carried in road passenger transport increased by 6.5%. According to the kind of transport, the number
of passengers carried in urban transport grew by 1.4%, in suburban transport by 15.9% and in international transport by 23.8%,
whereas in national transport it decreased by 0.8%.
In comparison with the fourth quarter of 2016, the total number of passengers carried declined by 0.9%. According to the kind
of transport, the number of passengers carried in urban transport fell by 7.3%, in suburban transport it increased by 11.3%, in
international transport by 4.5%, while in national transport the number of passengers decreased by 6.9%.
In the first quarter of 2017, in comparison with the same period of 2016, the total number of passenger-kilometres in road
passenger transport rose by 14.7%. According to the kind of transport, the number of passenger-kilometres in urban transport
increased by 7.8%, in suburban transport by 18.6% and in international transport by 40.3%, whereas in national transport it
dropped by 2.8%.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2016, the total number of passenger-kilometres grew by 14.7%. According to the kind of
transport, the number of passenger-kilometres in urban transport increased by 14.2%, in suburban transport by 35.8% and in
international transport by 27.7%, while in national transport it decreased by 12.1%.
