Transport of passengers by bus, third quarter of 2016

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, in the third quarter of 2016, in comparison with the same period of 2015, the total number of passengers carried in road passenger transport decreased by 0.9%. According to the kind of transport, the number of passengers carried in urban transport increased by 0.5% and in international transport by 13.4%, whereas in suburban transport it decreased by 0.8% and in national transport by 10.5%. In comparison with the second quarter of 2016, the total number of passengers carried declined by 20.5%. According to the kind of transport, the number of passengers carried in urban transport fell by 19.9% in suburban transport by 26.3% and in national transport by 3.1%, whereas in international transport the number of passengers grew by 39.0%. In the third quarter of 2016, in comparison with the same period of 2015, the total number of passenger-kilometres in road passenger transport increased by 1.2%. According to the kind of transport, the number of passenger-kilometres in urban transport decreased by 11.0% and in national transport by 9.9%, whereas in suburban transport it increased by 17.0% and in international transport by 8.6%. Compared to the second quarter of 2016, the total number of passenger-kilometres grew by 6.1%. According to the kind of transport, the number of passenger-kilometres in international transport increased by 71.1%, while in urban transport it decreased by 27.4%, in suburban transport by 10.9% and in national transport by 0.1%.
