According to the data of the State Statistical Office, a total of 9 158 thousand passengers were carried in road passenger transport in the first quarter of 2021, a decrease of 44.5% compared to the same period last year. According to the kind of transport, the number of passengers carried in urban transport decreased by 42.8%, in suburban transport by 45.3%, in national transport by 51.7%, and in international transport by 60.3%.
In the first quarter of 2021, in comparison with the same period of 2020, the total number of passenger-kilometres in road passenger transport decreased by 66.2%. According to the kind of transport, the number of passenger-kilometres in urban transport decreased by 86.8%, in suburban transport by 68.2%, in national transport by 58.5%, and in international transport by 49.6%.
