According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the total environmental protection expenditures in 2018 amounted to 11 232 421 thousand denars.
The total environmental protection expenditures are allocated by ecological use as follows: the greatest is the share of expenditures on waste management (64.2%), followed by the share of expenditures on educational, training and other similar activities (9.7%) and expenditures on waste water management (9.4%).
Environmental expenditures include two components: investments in assets for environmental protection and expenditures on maintenance of assets for environmental protection. The share of investments in the total environmental protection expenditures amounted to 74.7%, and the share of expenditures on maintenance of assets for environmental protection was 25.3%.
Of the total environmental expenditures, the greatest amount was spent in the industry sector and specialised producers, 8 992 016 thousand denars, i.e. 80.1%.
Of the total environmental expenditures made in the industry sector and specialised producers, 83.9% were intended for investments and 16.1% for asset maintenance.
Of the total payments and fees for environmental protection services, the greatest is the share of payments and fees for waste management, 84.9%.
