In accordance with EU Regulation (EC) No.1166/2008, in the period 1-20 June 2013, the State Statistical Office conducted the
Farm Structure Survey.
The structural survey on agricultural holdings is one of the basic statistical surveys in the area of agriculture, which ensured
comparable data on agricultural holdings.
According to the Farm Structure Survey data, there are 170 885 agricultural holdings in the Republic of Macedonia. In average,
one agricultural holding uses 1.85 ha of agricultural area and breeds 2.14 LSU (livestock units).
Total utilised agricultural area by agricultural holdings is 315 863 ha and from the total number of holdings, 58.2% used up to
1 ha of agricultural area.
Agricultural holdings have a total of 365 868 LSU, while 56.5% from the total number of holdings breed livestock, poultry and
beehives.
In the Republic of Macedonia, in average, there are 0.5 tractors per agricultural holding, of which bigger part are two-axle
tractors.
