According to the State Statistical Office final data, in 2019, retail trade turnover increased in nominal and real terms in the groups/ classes: Retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco, Retail sale of non-food products, except fuel and Retail trade, except fuel.
Trade turnover indicators measure the turnover in retail and wholesale trade in the form of nominal and real (price-adjusted) index numbers and their change rates, rather than absolute (monetary) turnover. Hence, the indicators describe exclusively the development and not the level of turnover.
Data published in this release are final data, calculated with 2015 as a constant base year, as well as compared with the same month of the previous year. Calculated indices are adjusted (seasonally and calendar).
