According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, in September 2024, in comparison with September 2023, the turnover in
retail trade increased in nominal and real rates in the groups/classes: Retail sale of non-food products, except fuel (by 10.6% in nominal
and 7.2% in real terms), Retail trade, except automotive fuel (by 4.8% in nominal and 1.7% in real terms), while the turnover increased
only in real rate in the group Retail trade of automotive fuel by 6.9%, and the nominal rate decreases by 8.1%.
The turnover in retail trade decreased in the group/class: Retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco (by 0.5% in nominal terms and 3.3%
in real terms).
Starting from 2024, the monthly indices for trade turnover are calculated with a new base year of 2021=100. All indices that were
previously published with the base 2015=100, are reworked with the new base year and published in the MakStat database.
