According to the preliminary data of the State Statistical Office, in April 2024, in comparison with April 2023, the turnover in retail
trade increased in the following groups/classes: Retail sale of non-food products, except fuel by 11.6% in nominal terms and by 7.7% in
real terms, Retail trade, except automotive fuel by 8.4% in nominal terms and by 4.2% in real terms, Retail sale of food, beverages and
tobacco by 5.6% in nominal terms and by 1.1% in real terms and in the group Retail trade of automotive fuel by 5.4% in nominal terms
and by 2.7% in real terms.
Starting from 2024, the monthly indices for trade turnover are calculated with a new base year of 2021=100. All indices that were
previously published with the base 2015=100, are reworked with the new base year and published in the MakStat database.
