Labour Cost Survey, 2012

The establishment of a comprehensive statistical informative system for the labour market is one of the priority development goals of the State Statistical Office.

The data on wages and other labour costs paid by the employer for the employees, as employer’s costs and not as employee’s incomes, are the basic statistical data that are indispensable for monitoring the changes on the labour market.

The Labour Costs Survey was carried out in the Republic of Macedonia to provide all these information.

The results of this survey are published in this publication and presented as data on overall employer’s costs made for employees, by separate kinds of costs and by sectors, which we consider that are useful for analysing certain phenomena and issues concerning the labour market.

The content of the publication is presented in two parts.

The first part consists of the conceptual, methodological and organisational foundations of the Labour Costs Survey. The objective is, by using methodological explanations for some terms and characteristics, for sources of data and the scope of the survey, to enable easier use of the data given in this publication.

The second part contains the final results of this statistical survey presented in tables.

The State Statistical Office hopes that this publication will fulfill it’s role, offering the public and the users information about basic data on employees, their wages and overall costs made for them for a particular period. All remarks and suggestions for improving the publication are welcome.
