The information about economically active population, employment and unemployment are the basic statistical data that are indispensable for monitoring the changes on the labour market. The State Statistical Office has conducted activities for building the information system about the labour market as a prerequisite for its systematic analysis and evaluation. To this end, the Labour Force Survey has been conducted since 1996. This publication contains the final results from the Labour Force Survey, with special emphasis on the Life Long Learning results, as well as a series of the most frequently requested Labour Force Survey data. The contents of the publication are presented in four parts. The first part consists of the conceptual and methodological bases, the second part consists analysis of the main indicators and the Labour Force Survey results for 2016, the third part gives an overview of the methodological bases and results of Lifelong Learning for 2016, while the fourth part presents a series of Labour Force Survey data and indicators for the period 2012-2016, as well as the activity rates by regions for the period 2012-2016. The objective is, by using methodological explanations for some terms and characteristics, for the sources of data and the scope of the survey, to facilitate the use of the data presented in this publication. The State Statistical Office hopes that this bilingual Macedonian-English publication will offer the users and the public lots of information with various characteristics about the total population, labour force and inactive population in the Republic of Macedonia. All remarks and suggestions aimed at improving this publication would be greatly appreciated.
