Survey on Foreign Visitors at Border Crossings,

The “Survey on foreign visitors at border crossings” is conducted in accordance with the Programme for Statistical Surveys 2008-2012 No. 19-31/1 (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia" No. 11/08), in co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Department of Border Police.
The basic concept of the survey can be found in the publication "Frontier statistics on tourism" of the World Tourism Organisation, within the provisions of the Council Directive (95/57/EC) on Tourism Statistics, and in the publication "Provisional Guidelines on Statistics of International Tourism", series M.N.62, United Nations, New York 1978.
The processed data are presented in tables, some of which are included in this publication. These data, used together with the existing monthly and yearly statistical border crossing data, maintained by the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Department of Border Police, will help users to perform adequate analyses of tourism and tourism revenues.
