Employers' average annual labour costs per employee


Definition

The Labour Cost Survey is used for obtaining data on paid wages and other employer’s labour costs for employees in the business entity.

The Labour Costs Survey is conducted in accordance with the Council Regulation (EC) No 530/1999, Commission Regulation (EC) No 1726/1999 and the Commission Regulation (EC) No 1737/2005.

Method of data collection

Observation units in the Labour Cost Survey are the business entities and their local units in private and other ownership on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia. The Survey is conducted on a sample of 3 984 statistical units, out of which 54.0% are in private ownership and 46.0% in other ownership. Of the total number of statistical units only 3 034 or 76.2% responded, out of which 47.3% are in private ownership and 52.7% are in other ownership. In the processing stage weights are calculated from the sampling frame. Non-response adjustment was made at the stratum level.
