Natural movement of the population


Statistics of vital statistics is based on collection and processing of data for vital events (births, deaths, marriages and divorces) according to certain demographic, economic, social and other topics.

Scope

Statistics of births comprise all births, deaths, marriage and divorce.

Sourse of data

In accordance with the Law on Civil registration, the reporting units are Registrar Offices responsible for Registrar books of births, deaths, marriages- Ministry of Justice - Department for Civil registration and for divorces are Primary Courts responsible for divorces.

Definitions

Live birth - is the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception irrespective of the duration og pregnancy, which after such separtion, breathes or shows any other evidence of live, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord or definite movement of voluntary muscles, whether or not the umbilical cord has been cut or placenta is attached.

Still birth (late foetal death) - If a child has been born or taken out of its mother's body without any signs of life (such as hearthbeats or muscule movements), but only if the gestation period was 28 and more weeks.

A deceased person - is every live birth person that showed permanent disappearance of all evidence of vital functions.

An infant death - is a child who died before completion the first year og age.

Natural increase - means the difference between live births and deaths for specific period of time.

Marriage is the act by which the legal relationship of husband and wife is constituted.

Divorce is a final dissolution of a marriage by a valid decision by the municipalcourt in charge.
