Sources and methods of data gathering
Data on prices of agricultural products on retail, wholesale and livestock markets are collected by weekly surveys.
Scope
The observation units are 13 retail markets, 2 wholesale markets and 6 livestock markets. Data are collected daily in the main market day and it is different for each market. For every product the highest, the most frequent and the lowest price is collected and for the wholesale and livestock markets, offered quantities are provided. Prices from markets and shops are not included.
Definitions
The most frequent price refers to the price with the highest number of occurrences for particular product, regardless to the quality.
Offered number of heads refers to average offering of particular category of livestock.
Offered quantity refers to quantity that is offered for particular product in kg, bunch or peaces.
