Masters of Science and Specialists


The data on masters of science and specialists are collected by the tertiary education institutions that are authorized to organize and conduct postgraduate studies. The data on graduated masters on science and specialists are collected with the individual questionnaire "Statistical form for masters of science and specialists" - form SV- 80, which is filled in by each person that obtains the academic title Master of Science or the academic title - Specialist.

Definitions

According to the Law on Tertiary Education, tertiary education institutions are as follows: university, faculties and higher schools. The faculties of arts that are carrying out art education activity can be named as art academy.

Faculty is the tertiary education institution that performs tertiary education, scientific, research or applied activity in one or several related scientific or vocational spheres.

The title Master of Science is obtained by the person that has completed university education, postgraduate studies and has passed the master's thesis.

The title Specialist is obtained by the person that has completed university education, postgraduate studies of at least one year of duration and has passed the specialist's thesis. The specialization in medical sciences is not considered as specialization, because it means broadening the vocational knowledge, but not acquiring scientific title.
