Goals
Indices on import prices from division Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (19) measure the changes in the level of import prices for imported industrial products (petroleum products) belonging to division 19.
Classifications and data publishing
Import prices of petroleum products are collected and processed according to the Classification of Products by Activities (KPD/2015) and the Customs Nomenclature.
The indices for division 19 are calculated and published according to the National Classification of Activities (NKD Rev.2) and by subcategories according to KPD/2015.
The indices cover following subcategories:
19.20.21 Motor spirit (gasoline)
19.20.24 Spirit type and kerosene jet fuel
19.20.26 Gas oils
19.20.28 Fuel oils n.e.c
19.20.31 Propane and butane, liquefied
Data collection
The prices that are the basis for calculating the index are collected (taken) from statistical survey "Foreign Trade",(NT).
The selected imported products cover 87.02% of the total invoiced value of imported products belonging to division 19.
Prices
The average monthly import price for a product is calculated when the total invoiced value of that product in denars is divided by the total quantity of the same product per unit of measure in the relevant month..
The import prices of industrial products from the base period are calculated arithmetic mean of the monthly import prices in 2021.
Weighting
For weighting, invoiced value in denars from "Foreign Trade", 2021 is used.
The weights are changed evey 5 years.
Calculations
-
The monthly indices on import prices are calculated with the Laspeyres formula.
I(t/0) - index at the level of division, sub-category
P (ti) - price of the product"i" in the current month
P (oi) - price of the product "i" in the base period
W (oi) - weight of the product"i" in the base period
n - number of products
The index of import prices, at different levels of the NKD and KPD, is calculated in two steps:
-
in the first step, the individual indices of each product are calculated (at the lowest 10-digit level of the Customs Nomenclature), for each individual price,as a ratio between the price of the current month and the base period price;
-
in the second step, the individual indices of each product are compiled by weighting at a higher level (sub-category, division).
-
Besides the monthly index as a basic one, the following indices are also calculated and published:
- current month index compared to the previous month index,
- current month index compared to the index for December of the previous year,
- current month index compared to the same month index of the previous year,
- average monthly index including current month compared to the same average index of the previous year.
