External trade by enterprise characteristics, 2021

According to the final data of the State Statistical Office, in 2021, more than 90% of the total external trade of the Republic of North

Macedonia was carried out by enterprises engaged in both trade flows.

The external trade surplus was generated mainly by enterprises belonging to the Industry sector, while the deficit was mainly from the

enterprises in the Trade sector.

About half of the total export and import value was concentrated on the top 50 enterprises.
