According to the State Statistical Office data, the number of live births in the fourth quarter of 2022 decreased by 4.7% compared to the same quarter of the previous year and it amounted to 4 427 live births.
The number of deaths in the fourth quarter of 2022 decreased by 26.8 % compared to the same quarter of 2021 and it amounted to 5 043, of which 9 were infant deaths.
The natural increase is negative -616 persons, representing the difference by which the number of live births is smaller than the number of deaths.
The number of marriages registered in this quarter of the year was 2762, a decrease of 2.0% compared to the same quarter of 2021.
