According to the State Statistical Office data, the number of live births recorded in the second quarter of 2021 was 4 604, a decrease of 4.0% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The number of deaths in the second quarter of 2021 increased by 40.2% compared to the same quarter of 2020 and it amounted to 7 496, of which 13 were infant deaths.
The natural increase was negative, -2 892 persons, representing the difference by which the number of live births is smaller than the number of deaths.
The number of marriages registered in this quarter of the year was 2 769, an increase of 140.8% compared to the same quarter of 2020.
In this quarter, there were 501 divorces.
