According to the data of the State Statistical Office, gross value added in agriculture for 2009 was 37283 million denars and in comparison with 2008 it decreased by 1.8%.
This decrease is caused by the decreased output of the agricultural 'industry' by 10.9% compared with 2008. Crop production, having a 67.7% share in the total production, decreased by 8.8% compared with 2008, due to the decreased value of production of cereals by 20.9%, forage plants by 14.6%, fruits by 25.9% and wine by 44.9%. An increase was recorded in industrial plant production by 47.4%, vegetables by 3.8% and potatoes by 20.3%.
Livestock production decreased by 22.7% due to decreased value of livestock by 10.1% and livestock products by 30.0%.
Intermediate consumption recorded a 19.5% decrease in 2009 compared with 2008.
In 2009, nominal and real income in agriculture from production factors per labour unit registered an increase of 7.6% in nominal income and 15.8% in real income from production factors.
