Economic Accounts for Agriculture in the Republic of Macedonia in 2008 show gross value added of 37981 million denars

According to the data of the State Statistical Office the nominal increase of gross value added for 2008 in comparison with 2007 was 17.9 %. This increase is caused by the increased output of the agricultural 'industry' by 19.1%.

Crop production, with share of 66.0% in the total production, increased by 11.0% compared with 2007 due to the increased production value of vegetables (7.7%), cereals (44.2%) and fruits (17.2%). An increase of 42.4% was recorded in livestock production as a result of the increased value of animal products (48.7%) and animals (32.8%).

Intermediate consumption recorded a 20.2% increase in 2008 compared with 2007.

In 2008 nominal and real income in agriculture from production factors, by labour unit, registered increases of 8.9% in nominal income and 3.0% in real income from production factors.
