Turnover indices in industry, January 2011

At the beginning of this year, the State Statistical Office started publishing data on turnover indices in industry. For the
purpose of collecting and processing data on turnover in industry the new National Nomenclature of Industrial Products
2008 is used, while for calculation and publication of turnover indices in industry the new National Classification of
Activities Rev.2 is used.
According to the State Statistical Office data, the turnover index in industry in the Republic of Macedonia in January 2011,
in comparison with January 2010, was 138.9.
The index of domestic turnover in industry in January 2011, in comparison with January 2010, increased by 25.6%, and the
index of non-domestic turnover in industry increased by 49.5%.
The turnover index in industry in the section Mining and quarrying in January 2011, in comparison with January 2010,
decreased by 2.0%, and in the section Manufacturing industry it increased by 41.8%.
The turnover index by Main Industrial Groups in January 2011, in comparison with January 2010, was higher in Energy
by 53.9%, Intermediate goods industries, except energy by 31.3%, Capital goods industries by 141.8%, Durable
consumer goods industries by 8.6% and Non-durable consumer goods industries by 14.9%.
