Industrial production volume index, January 2011

At the beginning of this year, the State Statistical Offce, for the purpose of collecting and processing data on Industrial
production volume indices used the new National Nomenclature of Industrial Products 2008, while for calculation
and publication of industrial production volume indices the new National Classifcation of Activities Rev.2 was used.
To ensure time series of comparable data, the monthly industrial production volume indices from 2005 to 2010 were
recalculated according to the new National Classifcation of Activities Rev.2.
According to the State Statistical Offce data, the industrial production volume index in the Republic of Macedonia in
January 2011, in comparison with January 2010, was 105.0.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in January 2011, in comparison with January 2010,
increased by 2.4%, in the section Manufacturing industry it increased by 8.0% and in the section Electricity, gas,
steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 4.8%.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groups in January 2011, in comparison with January 2010, was higher
in Intermediate goods industries, except energy by 16.8%, Capital goods industries by 73.1% and Durable
consumer goods industries by 19.5%, but lower in: Energy by 6.1% and Non-durable consumer goods
industriesby 1.8%.
