According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in March 2020, in comparison with March 2019, was 86.6.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in March 2020, in comparison with March 2019, decreased by 10.8%, in the section Manufacturing it decreased by 14.3%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 11.5%.
The decrease in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to decreased production in the divisions Manufacture of beverages, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of wearing apparel, Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, Manufacture of basic metals, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in March 2020, in comparison with March 2019, was lower in Energy by 12.0%, Intermediate goods, except energy by 11.9%, Capital goods by 20.1%, Durable consumer goods by 7.8% and Non-durable consumer goods by 11.1%.
The industrial production index in the period January - March 2020, in comparison with January - March 2019, was 96.3.
