Industrial production volume index, May 2018

According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in May 2018, in comparison with May
2017, was 101.1.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in May 2018, in comparison with May 2017, decreased by
7.3%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 2.9%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning
supply it decreased by 2.8%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions Manufacture of textiles,
Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical product and pharmaceutical preparations, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products,
Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of electrical equipment,
Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c., Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers and Manufacture
of furniture.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2018, in comparison with May 2017, was higher in Capital
goods by 18.0% and Durable consumer goods by 39.7%, but lower in Energy by 6.3%, Intermediate goods, except energy
by 2.4% and Non-durable consumer goods by 6.0%.
The industrial production index in the period January - May 2018, in comparison with January - May 2017, was 103.5.
