Industrial production volume index, April 2018

According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in April 2018, in comparison with April
2017, was 101.5.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in April 2018, in comparison with April 2017, decreased by
5.5%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 3.1%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning
supply it decreased by 1.9%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to the increased production in the divisions Manufacture of
textiles, Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of electrical equipment,
Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c., Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers and Manufacture
of furniture.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in April 2018, in comparison with April 2017, was higher in Capital
goods by 21.2% and Durable consumer goods by 67.9%, but lower in Energy by 5.5%, Intermediate goods, except energy by
3.0% and Non-durable consumer goods by 6.6%.
The industrial production index in the period January - April 2018, in comparison with January - April 2017, was 104.2.
