According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in January 2018, in comparison with January
2017, was 108.4.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in January 2018, in comparison with January 2017, decreased by
0.3%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 16.9%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
it decreased by 28.4%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to the increased production in the divisions: Manufacture of food
products, Manufacture of beverages, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, Manufacture of other
non-metallic mineral products, Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of
electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c., Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers
and Manufacture of furniture.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in January 2018, in comparison with January 2017, was higher in
Intermediate goods, except energy by 15.8%, Capital goods by 26.6%, Durable consumer goods by 57.5% and Non-durable
consumer goods by 5.3%, but lower in Energy by 26.1%.
