Industrial production volume index, May 2017

According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in May 2017, in comparison with May 2016,
was 109.2.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in May 2017, in comparison with May 2016, increased by 7.7%,
in the section Manufacturing it increased by 8.8%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it
increased by 13.8%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions Manufacture of food products,
Manufacture of beverages, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of other non-metallic
mineral products, Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of machinery and
equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2017, in comparison with May 2016, was higher in Energy by
18.1%, Intermediate goods, except energy by 6.8%, Capital goods by 23.5%, Durable consumer goods by 4.9% and Non-durable
consumer goods by 1.6%.
The industrial production index in the period January - May 2017, in comparison with January - May 2016, was 100.6.
