According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in March 2017, in comparison with March
2016, was 99.1.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in March 2017, in comparison with March 2016, decreased by
4.1%, in the section Manufacturing it decreased by 0.7%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
it increased by 0.3%.
The decrease in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to decreased production in the divisions Manufacture of food products,
Manufacture of wearing apparel, Manufacture of basic metals, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery
and equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in March 2017, in comparison with March 2016, was higher in Intermediate
goods, except energy by 3.9% and Durable consumer goods by 40.5% but lower in Energy by 3.5%, Capital goods by 7.6% and
Non-durable consumer goods by 2.7%.
The industrial production index in the period January-March 2017, in comparison with January-March 2016, was 98.5.
