Industrial production volume index, October 2016

According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in October 2016, in comparison with October
2015, was 96.4.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in October 2016, in comparison with October 2015, decreased by
0.8%, in the section Manufacturing it decreased by 4.5%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
it increased by 10.5%.
The decrease in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to decreased production in the divisions Manufacture of food
products, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of wearing apparel, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products,
Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, Manufacture of basic metals and Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except
machinery and equipment.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in October 2016, in comparison with October 2015, was higher in Energy
by 4.2%, Capital goods by 18.3% and Durable consumer goods by 73.8%, but lower in Intermediate goods, except energy by
4.4% and Non-durable consumer goods by 16.9%.
The industrial production index in the period January-October 2016, in comparison with January-October 2015, was 104.4.
