Industrial production volume index, May 2016

According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in May 2016, in comparison with May 2015,
was 105.3.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in May 2016, in comparison with May 2015, decreased by 19.8%,
in the section Manufacturing it increased by 11.7%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it
decreased by 18.4%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions Manufacture of food products,
Manufacture of beverages, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of wearing apparel, Manufacture of electrical
equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2016, in comparison with May 2015, was higher in Capital goods
by 34.5%, Durable consumer goods by 4.4% and Non-durable consumer goods by 8.2%, but lower in Energy by 24.9% and
Intermediate goods, except energy by 0.2%.
The industrial production index in the period January - May 2016, in comparison with January - May 2015, was 108.0.
