According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in May 2024, in comparison with May 2023, was 86.8.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in May 2024, in comparison with May 2023, decreased by 17.1%, in the section Manufacturing it decreased by 10.6%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 18.4%.
The decrease in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to decreased production in the divisions Manufacture of food products, Manufacture of beverages, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of wearing apparel, Manufacture of paper and paper products, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, Manufacture of basic metals, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2024, in comparison with May 2023, was lower in Energy by 22.2%, Intermediate goods, except energy by 4.2%, Capital goods by 11.7%, Durable consumer goods by 9.5% and Non-durable consumer goods by 17.4%.
The industrial production index in the period January - May 2024, in comparison with January - May 2023, was 95.1.
