According to the State Statistical Office data, the industrial production volume index in May 2021, in comparison with May 2020, was 116.5.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in May 2021, in comparison with May 2020, decreased by 12.0%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 27.2%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 27.9%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions Manufacture of beverages, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Manufacture of wearing apparel, Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, Manufacture of basic metals, Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2021, in comparison with May 2020, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 34.0%, Capital goods by 44.0%, Durable consumer goods by 61.0% and Non-durable consumer goods by 11.6%, but lower in Energy by 43.5%.
The industrial production index in the period January - May 2021, in comparison with January - May 2020, was 106.0.
