25 years of INDEPENDENT MACEDONIA,
With this publication, the State Statistical Office is joining the celebration
of 25 years of independence of the Republic of Macedonia, presenting through
figures a period full of changes, developments and challenges, great enthusiasm
and desire for progress in all spheres of the socio-political and economic life of
the country.
Walking towards the European family of statisticians, the State Statistical
Office underwent major transformations in this period - in the application of new
methodologies, the use of new technologies, new ways of data presentation and
availability, all aimed at providing users and decision makers in the society with
timely, accurate, high-quality, relevant and comparable data. This was all achieved
with a relatively small number of employees whose dedication and commitment
have contributed greatly to what the Macedonian statistics represent today - a
mirror of the overall life in the Republic of Macedonia.
We gladly recommend the use of this anniversary publication, hoping to
satisfy the interests of users and expecting feedback, proposals, suggestions and
comments that will help us improve each subsequent publication.
