Population center is a middle point calculated as a weighted average of the coordinates of the settlement’s centroid and the population in the corresponding census. Population center coordinates are calculated by the following equations:

- total population in the settlement according to the Population Census


For the City of Skopje, as a separate unit of Local Self-Government, the Population center for the censuses from 1948 to 1994 is calculated based on the centroids of the settlements which belong to the City of Skopje, and the data on Skopje as a settlement include data on settlements that in different periods did not have a status of settlement and were part of Skopje.
