1. Purpose and meaning
The turnover indices of services are quarterly, and fall into the group of main European short-term economic indicators, for which there is European Regulation no. 1165/98 (EC), as amended by Regulation (EC) No. 1158/2005). The service turnover index is calculated on a base year (2015 = 100) and estimates the average change in turnover between two time periods. The service turnover indices are used to monitor current economic development and short-term predictions.
2. Sources of data
Administrative data from the Public Revenue Office are used for obtaining the indices of the turnover of services.
3. Definitions and other explanations
The turnover consists of the total invoiced accounts of the monitored unit during the reference period, which corresponds to the sale of goods or services on the market of third parties. The turnover excludes VAT and other rejected similar taxes directly linked to turnover as well as all taxes and duties on goods or services invoiced by the enterprise.
