Today, at the EU InfoCentre of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Macedonia, a concluding promotional event was held titled “Macedonian Statistics Closer to the Vision for the European Statistical System”, presenting the activities and the results of the Twinning project "Support to the State Statistical Office of the Republic of Macedonia for capacity building and improving compliance of statistics with EU standards", funded by the European Union.
At the event, speeches were given by His Excellency Mr. Aivo Orav, Head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Jovan Andonovski, State Secretary at the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Hans-Helge Sander, Deputy-Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Blagica Novkovska, Director of the State Statistical Office and BC project leader, Mr.Roderich Egeler, President of the German Federal Statistical Office, and by Mr. Ringo Raupach, Head of Section at the Federal Statistical Office of Germany and EU MS Project Leader.
The project was realised during the last two years with the support of the Federal Statistical Office of Germany as Project Leader, Statistics Denmark as Junior Project Partner, and with expert assistance from statisticians from 8 Member States.
