Teachers and supporting staff in tertiary educational institutions

In the academic 2008/2009 the number of teachers and supporting staff in the tertiary educational institutions was 3 847

According to the data of the State statistical office the number of teachers and supporting staff in the tertiary educational institutions in academic year 2008/2009 was 3 847.

From the total number of the teaching personnel and supporting staff, 2 182 persons or 56.7% are teachers, while 1 665 persons or 43.3% is supporting staff. On the faculties, teaching was performed by 3 698 persons, which is 96.1% from the total number of teachers and supporting staff, while on higher schools teaching was performed by 149 persons or 3.9 %.

The number of female teachers and supporting staff in the academic year 2008/2009 was 1 732 persons or 45% from the total number of teachers and supporting staff.
