Enrolled students at higher schools and faculties

    Enrolled students in higher schools and faculties in the Republic of Macedonia in the academic year 2008/2009 (first cycle of studies)

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, there were 63437 enrolled students in the Republic of Macedonia in the academic year 2008/2009, which is a decrease of 1.3% compared with 2007/2008. The number of enrolled female students was 33593 or 53%. The highest number of students or 81.6% were enrolled in public tertiary institutions, while 18% were enrolled in private tertiary institutions.
There were 18335 students enrolled in the first year of studies, which is 28.9% of the total (students that are enrolled for the second time, third time or more are covered here).
