Theatres, philharmonic, professional symphonic orchestras and song and dance folk ensembles in the Republic of Macedonia  30.11.2009Theatres, philharmony and professional folk dance and song ensembles, 2008/2009 In accordance with State Statistical Office data, in 2008/2009 all reporting units (professional and amateur theatres) did not send data to the statistical office. In 2008/2009 compared with 2007/2008, the number of performances at professional theatres was decreased by 4.6 %, while the number of visitors was decreased by 2.4%. The average number of visitors per performance was 238. In 2008/2009, compared with 2007/2008, the number of performances at professional youth and children's theatres was increased by 0.5%, and the number of visitors was decreased by 5%. For amateur theatres, for the same period, the number of performances was decreased by 15.2 %, while the number of visitors was decreased by 37.3%. For Macedonian Philharmony, in 2008/2009 compared with 2007/2008, the number of concerts was decreased by 13.5%, and the number of visitors was decreased by 37.2%. For professional folk dance and song ensemble, for the same period, the number of performances as well as the number of visitors was increased.
