Recipients of social welfare

The total number of underage recipients of social welfare in 2009, in comparison with 2008, increased by 1.7%

- preliminary data –
According to the preliminary data of State Statistical Office, in 2009, the total number of underage recipients of social welfare was 21836, which represents an increase of 1.7 % compared to 2008, while the total number of adult recipients of social welfare in 2009 was 53 233, which represents an increase of 1.5% compared to 2008.

In the total activity of social welfare, the types of social welfare participate with 54.7%. Observed separately, by types, the oneoff (occasional) financial assistance is predominant with 32.8%, or 17.9% of the total social welfare.
