The Statistical Council of the Republic of Macedonia

The Statistical Council of the Republic of Macedonia is advisory and expert body to the state statistics.
The Council is consisted of President and 14 members appointed and dissolved by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. The Director is ex officio member of the Council.

  • Vancho Stojanov, Mayor of the municipality of Vasilevo
  • Enver Pajaziti, Mayor of the municipality of Brvenitsa
  • Eleonora Jovanovikj, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy
  • Daniela Stojanova, Macedonian Center for International Collaboration
  • Risto Stavrevski, Ministry of Interior
  • Prof. Vesna Bucevska, PhD, Faculty of Economics
  • Prof. Anica Dragoevikj, PhD, Institute for Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy
  • Goran Jovanovski, Employment Agency of the Republic of Macedonia
  • Bekir Medjiti, Pension and Disability Insurance Fund
In accordance to the amendments of the Law on State Statistics , the President and the members of the Council are representatives of:
  • Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia,
  • Ministry of Finance,
  • National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia,
  • Local self-government
  • Socio-Economic Council.
  • Non-governmental organizations,
  • Authorized bearers
  • Members of the scientific community and
  • State institutions
 
The Council performs the following duties:
  • discusses the initial bases of the Programme;
  • presents its opinion on the proposal for passing the Programme;
  • presents its suggestions and proposals on methodological bases of the statistical surveys to the Office and the authorized bearers;    
  • submits to the Office its proposals regarding the amendments and supplements to be implemented in the Programme;
  • presents its opinion on the proposed amendments and supplements to the Programme;
  • gives opinion on the Annual Report of the Office on implementation of the Programme;
  • presents its opinion on draft laws and other legal acts referring to the state statistics;
  • gives proposals on modernization and rationalization of the state statistics;
  • gives proposals on improving the international co-operation in statistics;
