Business tendencies in manufacturing industry in August 2019

The managers of the business entities assessed that the confidence indicator in manufacturing industry in August 2019, standing at 21.4, is 0.2 percentage points higher compared to July 2019 and 1.1 percentage points higher compared to August 2018.

The situation with the current volume of production orders in August 2019 is less favourable compared to the previous month, the expectations for the production volume for the next three months is more favourable, while the stocks of finished goods have increased compared to July 2019.

The estimation of the economic situation is more satisfactory compared to the previous month, also compared to August 2018. The number of employees is expected slightly to increase.

The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in August 2019 increased to 69.8% of normal utilization.

The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in August 2019 were: shortage of skilled labour with 23.1%, insufficient foreign demand with 18.8%, insufficient domestic demand with 15.3%, and uncertainty of the economic environment with 12.6%.
