Business tendencies in retail trade

According to the data of the State Statistical Office, the managers of the business entities assessed that the business situation of their business entities engaged in retail trade in the second quarter of 2010 is slightly unsatisfactory compared to the same quarter of 2009, but much more satisfactory compared to the first quarter of 2010. Their financial situation in the second quarter of 2010 is much more satisfactory than in the previous one. The managers of the business entities assessed that their stocks decreased in the second quarter of 2010, compared to the first quarter of the same year. The assessment of the expected orders, as well as of the number of employees, is less satisfactory, compared to the previous quarter.
The managers of the business entities assessed that the selling prices of the goods in the second quarter of 2010 increased compared to the first quarter of 2010. Their assessment of the expectations for the selling prices during the next 3 months is less optimistic. The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the business situation of the business entities in the second quarter of 2010 were: low demand with 36.8%, increased financial expenditures (interests) with 12.7% and increased competition with 11.6%.
