Business tendencies in manufacturing industry

According to the data of the State statistical office, the current business situation of the business entities in January 2010 according to the managers is less satisfactory compared to the previous month. The situation with the present volume of production orders is unsatisfactory. The production volume of the business entities in January 2010 increased compared to the previous three months; the expectations for the production volume are optimistic for the next three months, but not the expectations for the number of employees. The stocks of raw materials and intermediate goods and the provision of raw materials and intermediate goods in January 2010 are below the normal level. The stocks of finished products decreased compared to the previous month. In the next period the average purchasing prices of the inputs will increase, whereas the average selling prices of the finished goods will decrease. The average capacity utilization level of the business entities in January 2010, compared to the previous month, dropped to 51.4% of normal utilization. The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the production volume in January 2010 were: insufficient foreign demand with 26.8%, insufficient domestic demand with 19.4%, financial problems with 11.6%, uncertainty of the economic environment with 10.5%.
